Yandex: Illegal repeat offender domains to be removed from search

MOSCOW, Dec 13 (PRIME) -- The Russian antipiracy memorandum will be supplemented with a mechanism for removing repeat offender domains with pirated content, Internet company Yandex said on Monday.

“The most important thing for the moment is approval of a bill submitted to the State Duma (the parliament’s lower house), based on the provision of the current memorandum. The next step will be to add to the memorandum a mechanism agreed with the industry of deletion of domains repeated offenders from the search results,” Yandex said.

 The company said the approach will facilitate adjustment of new ways of fighting against pirates and turning them into law, which will ultimately boost popularity of official video resources.
